The Munich Research Association for Agricultural Ecosystems (FAM) has developed a geographic information system that is used for the following tasks: storage and adiministration of spatial data; execution of spatial analyses, and representation of attribute data and map printing. To ensure the continued use of the geographic information system in the long term, a metadata information system for spatial data was developed

Im Forschungsverbund fuer Agraroekosysteme Muenchen (FAM) wurde ein Geographisches Informationssystem aufgebaut, das fuer folgende Aufgaben eingesetzt wird: Speicherung und Verwaltung raeumlicher Daten; Durchfuehrung raeumlicher Analysen; Visualisierung von Sachdaten und Kartenausgabe. Um langfristig die Arbeit mit dem Geographischen Informationssystem zu gewaehrleisten, wurde ein Metainformationssystem fuer raeumliche Daten entwickelt
