Stripping the leaves of the vine as a technique to facilitate pesticide distribution [Vitis vinifera L. - Piedmont]

The technique of stripping the leaves of the grapevine using mechanical equipment was examined as regards the improvement of the organoleptic characteristics of the grapes and the quality of pesticide distribution. In some rows of a vineyard of Cortese cultivated at Guyot, mechanical stripping of the leaves was carried out on both sides of the row and on the one side only followed by distribution using an air-assisted sprayer. Distribution quality was determined as regards losses of the product on the ground, quantity of product deposited on the bunches and on the leaves. A number of quality parameters of the musts obtained in the various hypotheses and also the quality and operating capacity of the leaf stripping machine were also recorded. The results of the tests highlighted that mechanical leaf stripping not only makes it possible to obtain improved quality of the grapes, but also improves the effectiveness of pesticide treatments, in particular those of the bunches

La tecnica della sfogliatura della vite eseguita con mezzi meccanici e' stata esaminata sia dal punto di vista del miglioramento delle caratteristiche organolettiche dell'uva, sia sotto l'aspetto della qualita' della distribuzione del prodotto fitoiatrico. In alcuni filari di un vigneto di Cortese allevato a Guyot e' stata effettuata la sfogliatura meccanica, seguita da una distribuzione effettuata con una irroratrice ad aeroconvezione. La qualita' della distribuzione e' stata determinata in termini di perdite di prodotto a terra, quantita' di prodotto sui grappoli e sulle foglie. Sono stati inoltre rilevati alcuni parametri qualitativi dei mosti ottenuti nelle diverse tesi, oltre che la qualita' e la capacita' di lavoro della macchina sfogliatrice. I risultati ottenuti dalle prove hanno evidenziato come, grazie alla sfogliatura meccanica, sia possibile non solo ottenere una migliore qualita' dell'uva, ma anche migliorare l'efficacia dei trattamenti antiparassitari e, soprattutto, di quelli al grappolo
