Henry Shands is a biological scientist of the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service. Dr. Shands first joined USDA ARS in 1986. Prior to that, he worked for DeKalb for 19 years with a focus on hybrid wheat and sunflower reseacrh. He retired from ARS in 2007. Dr. Shands is Director Emeritus of the National Center for Genetic Resources Preservation in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Henry L. Shands joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in 1986. Prior to that, he worked for DeKalb for 19 years, where his research focused on hybrid wheat and sunflowers. Dr. Shands retired from ARS in 2007. He is director emeritus of the USDA National Center for Genetic Resources Preservation in Fort Collins, Colorado.
