Infrared spectra of inorganic compounds (3800-45cm⁻¹)

Infrared spectroscopy has proven to be a most useful tool in structural determination and identification of organic compounds. This method of analysis has the advantage of being rapid and unambiguous, it can easily be applied to small quantities of sample, and is accessible to most organic chemists because of the availability of low- cost infrared spectrometers. For these reasons, over the last 30 years large numbers of standard spectra of organic compounds have been collected and catalogued, and are presently available for reference. In contrast, relatively few infrared spectra of inorganic compounds are available for reference, and no present collection covers both the mid- and far-infrared regions from 3800 to 45 cm-1. The present work is intended to help fill this void by presenting a comprehensive compendium of reference spectra of inorganic compounds.
