Pollen-stigma adhesion in the Brassicaceae
2000
Heizmann, P. | Luu, D.T. | Dumas, C.
Pollen-stigma adhesion has been analysed using two complementary methods in the Brassicaceae family, namely in Brassica napus and B. oleracea. The first method was exclusively mechanical; the second used histochemical fixatives. Comparison of results obtained from both methods yielded information on the physico-chemical nature of the components and molecules involved in adhesion, hydration and pollen tube growth during the pollination process.
