Structure of ferulenol derivatives from Ferula communis var. genuina

From the root sap of Ferula communis var. genuina, two 3-farnesyl, 4-hydroxy coumarin derivatives; epsilon-hydroxyferulenol and ferulenoloxyferulenol were isolated. Their structures were determined on the basis of a spectral analysis, including mass, IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. NMR assignments arose from 1H-1H, 1H-1H LR, 1H-13C and 1H-13C LR 2D COSY data.
