This work aimed to evaluate the physicochemical, microbiological and parasitological characteristics, in periods of seasonality of the rivers (low and high) of the water of the Macurany Lake that surrounds the island of Parintins, Amazonas. Water samples were collected in autoclaved glasses during the ebb and flow periods, and placed in thermal boxes for further analysis. The pH and temperature values were measured directly at the water collection points. The pH values did not show statistical differences between the periods, on the other hand, only seasonal variation was observed in the bacterial concentration (Agar m-FC medium) between the ebb and flow periods. The quantification of the stains and the amount of bacteria in the used media (m-FC Agar and Endoles) demonstrate that the waters of Lake Macurany, from a microbiological point of view, are not suitable for consumption. The parasitological results showed total absence of protozoa and helminths. The linear regression analysis between the independent variables (temperature and pH) and the dependent one (amount of bacteria colony) showed that there was an increase trend between pH and temperature in relation to the increase in the number of bacteria colonies, demonstrating a direct relationship between the variables mentioned above (for both: p= 0.057 and R2= 0.520). There was a strong relationship between pH and temperature with the number of bacterial colonies grown in the m-FC medium (p=0.038 and R2=0.735). From the point of view of physical-chemical parameters, the water of Lake Macurany has good quality, however, under the bacteriological condition this water is of low quality. It is concluded that the water of Lake Macurany is unfit for human consumption. Keywords: Water, bacteria, Amazon, parasitological, physicochemical.
