A 1985 Roper Poll on nutrition discovered that approximately two-thirds of all Americans are "concerned" about salt, cholesterol, and sugar. However, most consumers are not completely aware of which foods actually contribute these nutrition "villains" to their diets. Three of the five top fat-filled food groups in the average American's diet are meats. The other two commonly consumed culprits are whole milk and doughnuts, cakes, and cookies. The top five contributors of sodium, cholesterol, and sugar are listed and discussed.(lsp)
