Extract: This note is mainly concerned with the Akino Hayami model and the Hayami Herdt model. i attempt to extend the above two models to take into account the case of open economy, where it is assumed that the market price is subject to a controlled ceiling price at which the government has to import a certain amount of agricultural produce in order to meet domestic demand.
