Francés. En 1991, l’Europe édictait une directive « Nitrates » que chaque Etat-Membre a, depuis lors, traduit sur son territoire dans un programme d’actions. Parmi les outils de contrôle utilisés par la Région wallonne pour vérifier la bonne mise en oeuvre de ce programme d’actions figure la mesure du reliquat azoté dans le sol en début de période de lixiviation du nitrate (APL – Azote Potentiellement Lessivable). Cet outil a été employé dans un premier temps (2004-2007) dans quelques centaines d’exploitations agricoles ayant volontairement sollicité une dérogation aux quantités maximales épandables d’engrais de ferme. Depuis 2008, il est utilisable par le Service Public de Wallonie dans toute exploitation agricole située en zone vulnérable.

Inglés. In 1991, the European Union enacted a “Nitrates” directive that each member state has had to translate into an action plan in its territory. One of the tools the Walloon region uses to control the implementation of this action programme is the measure of residual nitrogen in the soil at the beginning of the nitrate leaching period (Nitrogen Leaching Potential). From 2004 to 2007, this tool was used in a hundred-odd farms that had voluntarily requested an exemption from the maximum amount of spreadable farmyard manure. Since 2008, it can be used by the Walloon Administration in any farm located in a vulnerable area.
