Corrugated sheet silos are commonly used in agricultural facilities. Previous research suggests that the geometry of the corrugation affects the circumferential distribution of pressures exerted by the stored material against the silo wall. However, very few experimental tests in silos with corrugated walls are reported in literature. A silo model with corrugated steel walls, a square cross section and with different bottom configurations (flat bottom, centered discharging hopper and eccentric hopper) has been manufactured at the UPM. The vertical section of the silo model consisted of two independent modules, each one with 0.75 m height and 0.45 m width and length. The front and back walls of the silo are made of clear PMMA, while the lateral walls are made of corrugated steel sheet with a respective wavelength and depth of 75 mm and 13 mm. A series of experimental tests were performed using maize as the bulk material to evaluate pressures exerted by the stored material against the walls and the mass flow index (MFI) during the discharge. It was found that the presence of a hopper affects the distribution of wall pressures and slightly tend to increase the flow rate during discharge.
