Seasonal occurrence of channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) was investigated with overnight hook fishing in the middle reach of Kura River draining into Lake Kitaura and the littoral zone of lake around river mouth in April, July, October 2016 and January 2017. In both habitats, channel catfish occurred abundantly in April and July. The major food items of the catfish in Kura River included terrestrial plants, fishes and terrestrial arthropods, possibly impacting upon co-occurring native fishes by predation and competition for food resource in river area.
