The case study centres around the municipality of Elundini, located in the North of the Eastern Cape. The area is a catchment for the Umzimvubu River and is characterised by rugged, mountainous terrain and abundance of water. A nexus orientated modelling framework is applied that develops interventions to supply power and piped water where it is lacking, as well as improving agricultural practices.
