Alemán. Von den 30 bis 150 Birkenarten kommen vier in Deutschland natürlich vor, darunter die Sand- und Moorbirke. Die beiden Birkenarten sind in unseren Wäldern allgegenwärtig. Als Pionierbaumarten stellen sie sich auf nahezu jeder Kulturfläche ein und wurden meist entnommen. Mit wenigen fremdländischen Birkenarten wurden forstliche Versuche angelegt. Als Ziergehölze sind sie wegen ihrer Rinden- und Herbstfärbung häufiger. Je fünf nordamerikanische und asiatische Birkenarten werden unter Berücksichtigung ihrer Bedeutung in der Forstwirtschaft sowie in der Landschaft und Stadt vorgestellt.
Mostrar más [+] Menos [-]Inglés. Exotic birch species. Of the 30 to 150 birch species worldwide, four occur naturally in Germany, including the European white birch and the downy birch. These two birch species are ubiquitous in our forests. As pioneer tree species, they establish themselves on almost every planting site and have mostly been removed. In forestry, experiments have been carried out with a few exotic birch species. They are more common as ornamental trees because of their bark and autumn coloring. Five North American and five Asian birch species each are presented, taking into account their importance in forestry as well as in landscaping and in urban areas.
