Purpose. To determine the level of productivity of sunflower hybrids, their stability and plasticity for cultivation in the Left Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods. The field experiment was performed in the conditions of the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine in 2016–2018. The peculiarities of plant growth and development, formation of yield of hybrids ‘Ukrainskyi F1’ (k), ‘P64LL125’, ‘P63LE10’, ‘P64F50’, ‘P64F66’, ‘P63LL06’, ‘NK Konti’ (k), ‘NK Brio’, ‘P64LE99’, ‘Laskala’, ‘Kupava’. Yield plasticity was calculated and analyzed by the Ebergard – Russell method. Results. Over the years of research, the average yield of sunflower hybrids in the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine varied from 2.71 to 4.04 t/ha. The lowest yield was shown by the ‘Ukrainskyi F1’ hybrid – 2.42–3.05 t/ha, the highest ‘Laskala’ – 3.79–4.26 t/ha. It was determined that in the conditions of the Left-Bank Forest-Steppe, there is no absolute predominance of medium-ripe hybrids in terms of yield. Conclusions. According to the results of the analysis of yield plasticity of sunflower hybrids, it was determined that the group of samples with high yield plasticity includes ‘Ukrainskyi F1’, ‘P64F50’, ‘P64F66’, ‘NK Konti’, ‘NK Brio’, ‘P64LE99’, ‘Lascala’ and ‘Kupava’. They respond to the improvement of the level of agricultural technology and provide the maximum yield only under the conditions of optimal factors. Hybrids ‘P64LL125’, ‘P63LE10’ and ‘P63LL06’ are more stable in response to changes in growing conditions without reductions in yield. As for the shares of the influence of the studied factors, the yield of the hybrid ‘Ukrainskyi F1’ was most influenced by the conditions of the year, ‘NK Brio’ – the sowing rate. For the ‘NK Ferti’ hybrid, the conditions of the year and the sowing rate are equally important.

Methods. Field and mathematical methods were used. Field multifactorial experiment was conducted during 2016–2018 in the Left Bank of Ukraine, on the border of two soil and climatic zones of Ukraine - Forest-Steppe and Polissya. Peculiarities of plant growth and development, formation of "hybrids" yield (factor A) were studied: 'Ukrainskyi F1', 'P63LL06', 'NK Brio', 'NK Ferti' depending on "plant density" (factor B): 50, 55 , 60, 65 thousand pieces/hectare. We calculated and analyzed the sums of active, effective temperatures for two biological minima - 5 and 10 ° C; the sum of thermal units according to the method of Brown and Bootsma, 1993; coefficients of materiality of elements deviations of the agrometeorological mode of the current year from long-term averages; plasticity and yield stability according to the method of Eberthart S.A., Russel W.Q. (1966). Results. To pass the full cycle of sunflower plants development, the sum of active temperatures (t = 10 °C) for hybrid 'Ukrainskyi F1' – 2354.6; P63LL06 – 2306.4; 'NK Brio' – 2401.3; 'NK Ferti' – 2379.7; and the sum of effective temperatures for 'Ukrainskyi F1'- 1081.5; 'P63LL06' – 1056.9; 'NK Brio' – 1104.9; 'NK Ferti' – 1109.1 is required. The sum of temperatures, both at a biological minimum temperature 10 °C and 5 °C, meet biological needs of sunflower plants and is not a limiting factor for this crop growing. The sum of thermal units for the period April–October is 3780 on average for three years. During the period of active sunflower vegetation (April–August) the sum of thermal units is 2868–3258, significantly exceeding the sum of active and effective temperatures at biologically active temperatures 5 °С and 10 °С. The most determined limits of changes in active, effective temperatures and thermal units were observed in May – September. Conclusions. Plasticity and stability of sunflower yield more depending on hybrid and plants density than on conditions of the year. Yield stability coefficient for hybrid 'Ukrainskyi F1' was 1.68 - 2.30; 'P63LL06'- 2.51 - 3.14; 'NK Brio'- 3.15 - 4.63; 'NK Ferti' - 2.70 - 3.75 for yields, respectively: 2.16 - 3.11; 2.58 - 3.52; 3.20 - 4.12; 2.70 - 3.79 t/ha.

Використовували польовий та математичний методи. Польовий багатофакторний дослід проводили в 2016–2018 роках в Лівобережному Лісостепу України на межі двох ґрунтово-кліматичних зон – Лісостепу і Полісся. Досліджували особливості росту та розвитку рослин, формування врожайності «гібридів» (фактор А) ‘Український F1’, ‘Р63LL06’, ‘НК Бріо’, ‘НК Ферті’ залежно від «густоти рослин» (фактор В): 50, 55, 60, 65 тис. шт./га. Розраховували й аналізували суми активних та ефективних температур за двома біологічними мінімумами – 5 і 10 °С; суми теплових одиниць за методикою Brown and Bootsma (1993); коефіцієнти суттєвості відхилень елементів погоди поточного року від середніх багаторічних; пластичність і стабільність урожайності за методикою Eberthart S. A., Russel W. Q. (1966).Результати. Для проходження повного циклу розвитку рослин соняшнику необхідна сума активних температур (tб.м. = 10 °C) для гібрида ‘Український F1’ – 2354,6; ‘Р63LL06’ – 2306,4; ‘НК Бріо’ – 2401,3; ‘НК Ферті’ – 2379,7; сума ефективних температур: ‘Український F1’ – 1081,5; ‘Р63LL06’ – 1056,9; ‘НК Бріо’ – 1104,9; ‘НК Ферті’ – 1109,1. Суми температур як за температурою біологічного мінімуму 10 °C, так і 5 °C, відповідають біологічним потребам рослин соняшнику і не є обмежувальним чинником для вирощування. Сума теплових одиниць за період квітень–жовтень складала в середньому за три роки 3780. За період активної вегетації соняшнику (квітень–серпень) сума теплових одиниць складала 2868–3258, суттєво перевищуючи суму активних та ефективних температур за біологічно активних температур 5 °С і 10 °С. Найбільш детерміновані межі змін активних, ефективних температур і теплових одиниць спостерігали в період травень–вересень.Висновки. Пластичність і стабільність урожайності соняшнику більше змінюються залежно від гібрида і густоти рослин, ніж від умов року. Коефіцієнт стабільності врожайності для гібрида ‘Український F1’ склав 1,68–2,30; ‘Р63LL06’ – 2,51–3,14; ‘НК Бріо’ – 3,15–4,63; ‘НК Ферті’ – 2,70–3,75 за урожайності 2,16–3,11; 2,58–3,52; 3,20–4,12; 2,70–3,79 т/га, відповідно. | Цель. Установить соответствие ресурсов тепла и влаги биологическим потребностям гибридов подсолнечника (Helianthus annuus L.); установить критериальные показатели оценивания погодных условий в северных регионах Украины; установить связь между температурным режимом, осадками и урожайностью.Методы. Использовали полевой и математический методы. Полевой многофакторный опыт проводили в 2016–2018 годах в Левобережной Лесостепи Украины. Исследовали особенности роста и развития растений, формирования урожайности «гибридов» (фактор А): ‘Украинский F1’, ‘Р63LL06’, ‘НК Брио’, ‘НК Ферти’ в зависимости от «густоты стояния растений» (фактор В): 50, 55, 60, 65 тыс. штук/га. Рассчитывали и анализировали суммы активных, эффективных температур по двум биологическим минимумам – 5 и 10 °С; суммы тепловых единиц по методике Brown and Bootsma (1993); коэффициенты существенности отклонений погодных условий от средних многолетних данных; пластичность и стабильность урожайности по методике Eberthart S. A., Russel W. Q. (1966).Результаты. Для прохождения полного цикла развития растений подсолнечника, необходима сумма активных температур (tб.м. = 10 °C) для гибрида ‘Украинский F1’ – 2355; ‘Р63LL06’ – 2306; ‘НК Брио’ – 2401; ‘НК Ферти’ – 2380; сумма эффективных температур: ‘Украинский F1’ – 1082; ‘Р63LL06’ – 1057; ‘НК Брио’ – 1104,9; ‘НК Ферти’ – 1109. Суммы температур как при биологическом минимуме 10 °C, так и 5 °C, соответствуют биологическим требованиям растений подсолнечника и не являются лимитирующим фактором для выращивания. Сумма тепловых единиц за период апрель–октябрь составляла в среднем за три года – 3780. В период активной вегетации подсолнечника (апрель–август) сумма тепловых единиц составляла 2868–3258 и существенно превышала сумму активных и эффективных температур при биологически активных температурах 5 °С и 10 °С. Наиболее детерминированные границы изменений активных, эффективных температур и тепловых единиц наблюдали в мае–сентябре.Выводы. Пластичность и стабильность урожайности подсолнечника больше изменяются в зависимости от гибрида и густоты стояния растений, чем от погодных условий года. Коэффициент стабильности урожайности для гибрида ‘Украинский F1’ составил 1,68–2,30; ‘Р63LL06’ – 2,51–3,14; ‘НК Брио’ – 3,15–4,63; ‘НК Ферти’ – 2,70–3,75 при урожайности 2,16–3,11; 2,58–3,52; 3,20–4,12; 2,70–3,79 т/га соответственно.

Purpose. To evaluate the stability and plasticity of new varieties of grain sorghum in ecological conditions of the Fores-Steppe and Steppe zone of Ukraine. Methods. Field study, statistical evaluation. Results. It was found that in Ukraine the average yield of grain sorghum in 2015 was 3.72 t/ha and in 2016 – 3.36 t/ha. In field experiments during 2009–2016, ‘Praim’ and ‘Sprynt 2’ hybrids appeared to be significantly better as compared to averaged yields of 3.9 t/ha. Evaluation of yield plasticity in environmental conditions of the Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones showed that the hybrid ‘Praim’ did not differ from the group standard and its index is no more than one. At the same time, the ‘Sprynt 2’ is highly-plastic hybrid and ‘Dniprovskyi 39’ belongs to relatively low-plastic varieties. Conclusions. It was established that, as an average of an experiment, hybrids of grain sorghum ‘Praim’ and ‘Sprynt 2’ had a yield of 4,2–4,3 t/ha. According to the analysis of ecological plasticity, ‘Sprynt 2’ can be included with the intensive type and ‘Dniprovskyi 39’ – with relatively low-plastic varieties. It was found that proper selection of varieties and farming practices of cultivation is one of the main factors that favors high yields and respectively determine 37% and 34% of the level of grain sorghum productivity.

Мета. Вивчити сорти сої різного походження за вмістом білка та іншими господарськими ознаками, визначити показники стабільності та пластичності цих ознак, а також виділити сорти, перспективні для використання у селекційних програмах.Методи. Польові, лабораторні, біохімічні та статистичні.Результати. Досліджено 22 сорти сої за врожайністю, вмістом білка та олії в насінні. Виділено пластичні сорти, що мають високу врожайність: ‘Муза’, ‘Ментор’, ‘Асука’, ‘Валас’, ‘Кофу’, ‘Кардіф’, ‘Алігатор’, ‘Вишиванка’, ‘Сузір’я’ та стабільні за врожайністю сорти вітчизняної селекції ‘Сіверка’, ‘Вільшанка’, ‘Устя’, а також сорт ‘Лісабон’. Найвищий уміст білка відмічено у сорту ‘Опус’ – 45,0% у 2017 році. Цей сорт у середньому за три роки показав 43,63% білка в насінні і поступався тільки сорту ‘Устя’ (44,3%). Проте значно вище значення коефіцієнта регресії b = 4,289 у сорту ‘Лісабон’ показало його високу чутливість до умов вирощування при досить низькому середньому значенні вмісту білка в насінні (38,60%), як і сорт ‘Сілесія‘ (b = 4,289) при середньому значенні білковості – 42,73%. Сорт-стандарт ‘Муза’ при низькій білковості 38,60% був досить стабільним за проявом цієї ознаки – S2 = 0,222. Виділено низку сортів з високим вмістом олії в насінні: ‘Валас’ – 22,77%, ‘Сігалія’ – 22,7%, ‘Алігатор’, ‘Сіверка’ – 22,53%, ‘Кофу’ – 22,13%, сорт-стандарт ‘Муза’ – 21,77%.Висновки. У селекційних програмах, спрямованих на підвищення вмісту білка в насінні, слід використовувати сорти: ‘Опус’ – як носій максимального значення ознаки, ‘Устя’, ‘Асука’, ‘Сілесія’ та ‘Касіді’ – як високоврожайні з високим умістом білка. Погодні умови року неоднаково впливали на прояв досліджуваних ознак: у сприятливий для отримання високих урожаїв рік вміст білка в насінні знижувався, у посушливіший рік уміст білка був вищим, а вміст олії в насінні змінювався незначно. | Цель. Изучить сорта сои различного происхождения по содержанию белка и других хозяйственно ценных признаках, определить показатели стабильности и пластичности этих признаков, а также выделить сорта, перспективные для использования в селекционных программах.Методы. Полевые, лабораторные, биохимические и статистические.Результаты. Исследовано 22 сорта сои различного происхождения по урожайности, содержанию белка и масла в семенах. Выделено высокоурожайные высокопластичные сорта: ‘Муза’, ‘Ментор’, ‘Асука’, ‘Валас’, ‘Кофу’, ‘Кардиф’, ‘Аллигатор’, ‘Вышиванка’, ‘Сузирья’ и стабильные по урожайности сорта отечественной селекции ‘Сиверка’, ‘Вильшанка’, ‘Устя’, а также сорт ‘Лиссабон’. Выделен ряд высокомасличных сортов: ‘Валас’ – 22,77%, ‘Сигалия’ – 22,7%, ‘Аллигатор’, ‘Сиверка’ – 22,53%, ‘Кофу’ – 22,13%, сорт-стандарт ‘Муза’ – 21,77%.Выводы. В селекционных программах, направленных на повышение содержания белка в семенах, следует использовать сорта: ‘Опус’ – как носитель максимального значения признака, а также ‘Устя’, ‘Асука’, ‘Силесия’ и ‘Касиди’ – как объединяющие высокую урожайность и высокое содержание белка. Погодные условия года по-разному влияли на проявление изучаемых признаков: в благоприятном для получения высоких урожаев году содержание белка в семенах снижалось, высокое содержание белка было в более засушливом году, а содержание масла в семенах менялось в незначительной степени | Purpose. Purpose. To study the stability and plasticity of spring rapeseed varieties, in order to assess their adaptability potential in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe and Polissia zones, and also select the most ecologically plastic varieties among them. Methods. Field, laboratory, analytical and statistical. Results. Seven varieties of spring rapeseed, included in the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine, were studied on indicators of plasticity and stability of yield traits, weight of 1000 seeds, protein and oil content. The highly plastic intensive varieties ‘DK 7150 CL’, ‘DK 7160 CL’ and ‘Sunder’ were selected for yield among the studied varieties, which are able to respond appropriately to changing of growing conditions. Varieties ‘DK 7150 CL’ and ‘DK 7160 CL’ belong to intensive varieties for the parameter of weight of 1000 seeds. The variety ‘Sunder’ was also highly plastic for this parameter. The varieties ‘Axana’, ‘Bilder’ and ‘CLICK CL’, according to their protein content, belong to the intensive type varieties that are capable of combining sufficiently high values of the studied parameter with its stability under changing conditions. Variety ‘DK 7150 CL’, which was low-plastic, has a rather low positive value of the average group deviation of the reaction stability coefficient, therefore, it can be attributed to widely adapted genotypes. Varieties ‘DK 7160 CL’, ‘DK 7175 CL’ and ‘Sander’ belong to highly plastic intensive varieties in oil content. Varieties ‘DK 7175 CL’, ‘Builder’ and ‘CLICK CL’ are showed high stability for yield, varieties ‘Axana’, ‘Sunder’ and ‘CLICK CL’ for weight of 1000 seeds. The varieties ‘DK 7160 CL’, ‘DK 7175 CL’, ‘DK 7150 CL’ and ‘Sunder’ were highly stable in protein content, in oil content – varieties ‘DK 7150 CL’, ‘Axana’, ‘Builder’ and ‘CLICK CL’. Conclusions. It were established that high-intensity varieties for yield and weight of 1000 seeds in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe and Polissia zones are ‘DC 7160 CL’ and ‘DK 7150 CL’, for protein content – varieties ‘Axana’, ‘Builder’ and ‘CLICK CL’, for oil content – varieties ‘DK 7160 CL’, ‘DK 7175 CL’ and ‘Sunder’. The evaluation of the plasticity and stability of rapeseed varieties, which were included in the State register of plant varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine, makes it possible to select varieties that belong to the intensive type. According to the research results, varieties which are able to successfully adapt to the limiting environmental factors and stress in various soil and climatic zones have been selected.

This contribution is based on the six presentations given at the Special Interest Group meeting on Mathematical modelling of fungal growth and function held during IMC9. The topics covered aspects of fungal growth ranging across several orders of magnitude of spatial and temporal scales from the biomechanics of spore ejection, vesicle trafficking and hyphal tip growth to the form and function of mycelial networks. Each contribution demonstrated an interdisciplinary approach to questions at specific scales. Collectively, they represented a significant advance in the multi-scale understanding offungal biology.
