Three synthetics of Winter Rye were being observed for the quantity of seminal roots (QSR) to study their inheritance. High inheritance coefficients in a restricted sense were established. Genetic improvement of the Rye may be a result of direct breeding and of using heterosis effect. QSR expressed essentially negative genetic correlation with plant height, positive with grain size, productive bushiness and weight of grain in the ear of successors, as well as with grain yield per unit of the area. Genetic correlation coefficients shall be used in the applied breeding.

It is explained the essence of the formation of seed production of lettuce Lactuca sativa var. secalina L. depending on the form of the inflorescence habitus, which formed during the different areas of plant nutrition. It is substantiated the mechanism of seed formation on different parts of the inflorescence of female plant with identification of it’s sowing quality. It is developed the agrotehnologcal measures aimed at improving the productivity of lettuce seed by overcoming its matrical heteroquality

Development and improvement of a female component of MS hybrids of sugar beet were carried out on the basis of the following methods: inereasing frequency of occurrence of sterility maintainers by means of preliminary saturation of the population with alleles of the x and z genes; the use, as a female form, of simple sterile hybrids from the crossing of sterile lines with unrelated O-types; and also the drawing in of complexes of valuable genes from materials of foreign origin.

This article discusses the main factors of origin and development of analytical selection of winter wheat in Ukraine in late XIX - early XX century .. In particular highlight the role of scientific works of Charles Darwin, W. Rimpau, AL Sempolovskуу, IS Korzhinskуу and research institutions to increase attention to the study of local varieties of winter wheat and their improvement. Especially analyze values of Russia's first benefit from the breeding "Guide to Seed for the Advancement of cultivated plants", in which the author proposes methods for improving and creating new varieties. Since the end of XIX century selection were mainly involved in private owners on their own initiative, already in the beginning of XX century this trend more interested in the agricultural society, local and state authorities. Thanks to their support in the country organized congresses, meetings and conferences, set up research and field stations. It was during this period of transition took place in the national selection analysis.

There provided brief description of genetic, biological and morphological and qualitative characteristics of new short-stem large-grain synthetic of Zabava winter rye. Essential negative genetic correlation of the output plants height, and positive correlation of seed size and number of seminal roots with grain yield of Zabava winter rye, has been established. Joint cooperation is proposed to put the new variety in production.

Over 86% of Winter Wheat varieties bred by Ukrainian breeders are classified according to their quality to the strong and valuable, in contrast to 14 % of foreign varieties. This is the evidence of the Ukrainian breeding varieties ability to compete.

This is the evidence of the Ukrainian breeding varieties ability to compete. | Определено качество зерна сортов пшеницы мягкой ярой, внесенных в Государственный реестр сортов растений Украины на 2008 год по показателям качества зерна: содержание белка, силы муки и объема хлеба. Более 75 % сортов пшеницы, созданных селекционерами Украины и 11% иностранных отнесены по качеству зерна к сильным и ценным. | За показниками: вміст білка, сила борошна та об’єм хліба визначена якість зерна сортів пшениці м’якої ярої, занесених до Державного реєстру сортів рослин України у 2008 році. До сильних і цінних за якістю зерна віднесені понад 75% сортів пшениці української і 11% зарубіжної селекцій.

Maximum grain productivity was achieved by mineral fertilizers in combination on autumn fallow N60P60K60. after pea - N90P60K60 | Изучалось влияние минеральных удобрений на урожайность и качество зерна пшеницы твердой яровой. С увеличением доз азотных удобрений (до N120P60K60 ) величивается стекловидность зерна, содержание белка и клейковины в нем. Максимальная урожайность зерна формировалась по черному пару при внесении минеральных удобрений в сочетании N60P60K60, по гороху - N90P60K60 | Вивчався вплив мінеральних добрив на формування елементів біологічної врожайності та якість зерна. Максимальна врожайність зерна пшениці твердої ярої формується за внесення під передпосівну культивацію по чорному пару мінеральних добрив у співвідношенні N60P60K60, після гороху - N90P60K60 • Зі збільшенням доз азотного добрива маса 1000 зерен та натура зменшуються, а склоподібність, вміст білка та клейковини в зерні збільшуються.
