The influence of sowing time on the resistance of corn hybrids to the Helminthosporium turcicum fungus infection and the effect of fungus infection intensity on corn yield production

The tolerance of several corn hybrids to Turcicum leaf blight (Helminthosporium turcicum) was identified. (Fungus binomial is published for first time in Greece). The results indicated that corn plants are more sensitive before silking than 2-3 weeks later. Disease intensity during that sensitive period of the plant is very chemical and is significantly negatively correlated to grain yield
