Effect of cereal grain drying in the Van den Broek dryer on nutritive value of grain protein

The chemical analysis and biological tests on rats fed on barley, oat and rye grains dried at different temperatures in the Van den Broek or in VSZ-3P type dryers were carried out. The nutritive value of grain protein decreased when the gas temperature exceeds 400 degrees C in the inlet and 120 degrees C in the outlet the Van den Broek dryer. A particularly strong decrease of the content of available lysine and the nutritive value of protein was observed
