The butter lettuce features were tested. The sensorial quality of lettuce cultivated in a glasshouse in autumn was estimated. The sensorial analysis was made for seven varieties. The estimation of the lettuce varieties was the highest when the nitrogen fertilization dosage was 120 mg/cubic dm, independently from a variety. The Meisterstuck variety was the only one which required 180 mg/cubic dm nitrogen dose. The highest estimation of taste was given to Action, Agora, Ambra, Bona, Ewelina, and Marta varieties, with 120 mg/cubic dm nitrogen fertilization of substrate. The Meisterstuck variety received the highest number of points, that is 5.0 for all sensorial quality factors, with 180 mg/cubic dm nitrogen fertilization dosage
