Effect of ethanol on the production of cellulose and acetic acid by gluconacetobacter persimmonensis KJ145

We investigated the effect of ethanol on the production of cellulose and acetic acid fermentation by Gluconacetobacter persimmonensis KJ145. Results showed that bacterial cellulose productivity was highest when 2 ethyl alcohol was added to apple-huice medium. For acetic acid production, 7 ethyl alcohol was needed.
