New antagonistic strain D10 from rice rhizosphere in Angthong growing area and the effective strains, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens KPS46, Pseudomonas fluorescens SP007s, Serratia marcescens Spt360, and Paenibacillus sp. SW01/4 were mixed in different combination set and evaluated for increased efficacy in suppressing Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) caused bacterial leaf blight of rice. Their potentials on increased indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) to enhanced plant growth of seeds treated with those antagonists were also characterized. A set of 3-strain combination of SP007s+Spt360+D10 was significantly greater in pathogen suppression with 11.6 mm inhibition diameter than other strain set of 2, 4, or 5. Interestingly, mixture technique of 3-strain co-culture in same NB flask for 48 h provided better inhibition of pathogen than immediate mixture of each 48 h old culture. We also found that mixed 3-strain co-culture increased highest IAA accumulation in resistant (Suphanburi1) and susceptible cultivars (Jusmine105) of rice with 0.13 and 0.07 micro g/ml respectively. The IAA obtained from leaves of seed treated with 3-stain mixture is a signal molecule that can trigger plant gene activation. The data obtained result in formula development of effective mixture for field application in the future.
