Plate diluting and the modified two fold dilution methods were used to measure tne bacterial inhibition diameter and minimum inhibitory concentration of 12 kinds of Chinese herbal medicine water extracts against 8 livestock and poultry pathogenic enteral bacteria. The result showed that 12 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines had both different antibacterial spectrum and various bacteriostatic effect to 8 tested microorganism,the size of bacteriostatic circle had certain parallel relationships with minimum inhibitory concentration.
