The food safety practices being followed in the urban area were better as compared to the rural areas with the highest score of 105.20 by urban higher income category and lowest score by rural lower income category (78.73).The respondents with high practices scores among various categories were the respondents >45 years (95.74), Post Graduates(107.98)and the respondents having annual family income of more than Rs. 5 lacs (102.04). A significant negative correlation was found between food safety practices and incidence of food borne diseases (p<0.01).
