Re₂O₇ reacts with (Me₃SiN = PPh₂)₂CH₂, (Me₃SiN = PPh₂)₂C₂H₄ and Me₃SiN = PPh₃ to give (O₃ReN = PPh₂)₂CH₂ (3), (O₃ReN = PPh₂)₂C₂H₄ (6) and Ph₃P= NReO₃ (7). 6 has been characterizedby X-ray crystallography. The complex crystallizes in the space group P 1̄ with unit cell dimensions a = 837.4(4), b = 873.0(5), c = 1102.5(6) pm, ɑ = 112.53(4), β = 98.54(4), γ = 100.59(4)°, and Z = 1. The structure demonstrates that the bis(diphenylphosphinimino)-ethane group is bridging two ReO₃ units.
