[Prolonged fattening period of broiler male chickens]

An experiment on 400 broiler male chickens fattened till 14 weeks of life was carried out. The better carcass dressing, a more favourable meat : bone ratio and lower fat content in carcasses of broiler fattened till 14 weeks of life than those fattened till 8 weeks of life was observed. A higher protein content in breast muscle of longer fattened broilers was stated
