Yield of important maize hybrids cultivated on smonitza depending on the amount of fertilizers and crop density

Investigation proved favourable chemical properties of smonitza near Zajecar (Yugoslavia) for growing maize. Hybrids ZP 670 and ZP 704 produced high yields only in 1986 which was the most favourable for maize growing. Quantities of NPK fertilizer higher than 375 kg/ha had no effect upon the increase of maize yield. For arid conditions of the Timok basin (Yugoslavia) the most favourable density of the investigated hybrids was 50,000 -55,000 plant's/ha. Interactions of the investigated factors did not provide statistically reliable results.
