The modelling of citric acid production in batch culture was on the basis of experimental studies. The unknown kinetics coefficients were estimated by least squares identification technique minimizing a quadratic performance index by the method of Hooke and Jeeves. The influence of the integration method and the time for one simulation was investigated.
