Jasmine flower borer and its control strategies

The larvae have 4 kinds of parasites. The braconid (unidentified) is the major factor of its mortality up to 20 %. The survival rate is 0.5. Sex ratio of female per male is 1:1. The height of light trap placed in jasmine garden should be 0.5 metre above the tree. The blue light is appropriate in this case. The light trap will capture all kind of jasmine's pests including the insects attack the other crops near by. After 1-2 months of light trap operation, flower damage decreased. Correlation coefficient of adult JFB do not show relation with other factors. The adult active from 8 pm. and peak during 2-4 am. If spray the insecticides when the damage is more than 20 % the highest cost/benefit ratio will be received. The insecticides that show promissing in controlling JFB were abamectin (20 cc), cypermethrin/monocrotophos (30 cc), cyfluthrin (10 cc), teflubenzuron (20 cc) and cypermethrin (10 cc). If slightly damage occurs, these insecticides recommended will be: deltamethrin (12 cc), methomyl (12 gm) and monocrotophos (20 cc) (with 20 litre of water).
