The paper presents the structure and the frequency of pest groups in wheat crops during 1987-1991 in the southern zone of Oltenia. These are: Thysanoptera 19,34 percent, Heteroptera 1,82 percent, Homoptera 25,19 percent, Hymenoptera 3,09 percent, Coleoptera 38,14 percent, Epidoptera 0,21 percent and Diptera 12,21 percent. The evolution of average frequency in each group, by decades, is demonstrated between March-July, which shows that the maximum frequency in April includes Chrysomelidae (Halticinea) and Diptera, in May Heteroptera, Thysanoptera and Hymenoptera, whereas June includes Homoptera and Heteroptera (larvae) and Thysanoptera (chrysalides). Fly curves annually represent the evolution in dynamics of the main wheat pests, and dependent on them there has been worked up a scheme containing the moments of applying chemical measures for controlling pests in the zone. So, it is recommended: treatment of seed; autumn treatment at tilling (optional); spring treatment, during the first decade of May, when the hibernating bugs reach PED; summer treatment at the end of blossom in the phase "Q" of wheat
