Physical refining of sunflowerseed oil

The quality of initial oil is one of the key factors for the process as it influences the pretreatment and the stability of the final product. The results obtained also confirm that the phosphatides composition is significantly more important for the pretreatment than their total content. The results obtained were processed by mathematical methods and the dependence was obtained between the stability and pretreatment efficiency in the function of nonhydratable phosphatides as well as the oxidative state of initial oil. A series of experiments was performed during the optimization of deacidification, where three parameters were varied. The deacidification of sunflowerseed oil can be successfully performed at 220 deg C to 260 deg C and absolute pressure to 200 Pa, in 1 to 3 h, applying 2.5 of water vapour per hour and mass of oil.
