Effect of feathering rate on body, testes and comb weights in local male chicken

In this study the effect of "K" gene (rate of feathering) on some economical traits of local chicken was investigated. The sexual development of the fast and slow feathering birds was also studied. Body, testicular and comb weights were recorded together with testicular weight factor and comb weight factor from five weeks to 25 weeks of age. Body weights slow feathering birds and at most ages were lower than those of fast feathering birds so was the case for testicular and comb weights, where they were heavier in the fast feathering birds, the differences were significant at certain ages
