Use of HYDRELE to predict physiological disorders of apple during storage

The possibility of predicting of physiological disorders of apples using HYDRELE - an ethylene-releasing chemical - was studied during the years 1991-94. The experiments showed that treatment of apples with 1.5 percent solution of HYDRELE would predict levels of physiological disorders such as bitter pit, senile brown core, senescent breakdown, superficial scald and others within two weeks of fruit harvest
