The toxicity of heavy metals has multiple direct and/or indirect effects on practically all physiological processes in plants. Our study deals with the effect of excessive concentrations of Cr or Ni (0.1 mM) on the accumulation and concentration of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Na, Zn, Fe, Cu, and Mn in the leaves and roots of sugar beet plants. The experiments were conducted using water cultures under greenhouse conditions. Cr and Ni had a specific effect on the concentration of individual elements in the plants, and this effect depended on the plant part and the element. In most cases, the concentration of the studied elements in the dry matter mass of the plants decreased.
