The study was carried out on the microbial contaminationn of semen from Muscovy drakes which was used for artficial insemination. In the microbial test it was found that 12.50% of the ejaculates obtained from Muscovy drakes were sterile, 43.75% of the semen were contaminated to the extend of 1 000mt/ml, 25.00% - from 1 000 to 5 000 mt/ml, and 18.75% - over 5 000 mt/ml. The isolated microorganisms belonged to the genus Bacillus, Staphylococcus and the family Enterobacteriaceae. For ejaculates with a high microbial contamination with bacteria from the Enterobacteriaceae family and the Staphylococcus genys, a decrease in the motility of gametes was found and a higher percentage of sperms with structural disordes affecting mainly the acrosome.
