It is well known that secretion of the gastric acid is regulated neurally by stimulation of n.vagus and humorally by activation of histamine H2 receptors in parietal cells. The purpose of our investigation was to find out the neural and humoral regulation mechanisms of the gastric acid secretion in the postnatal ontogenesis of calves. We investiagted 16 calves from 2 to 14 weeks of age and 2 year old bulls with hronical fistulate in the abomasum. The potentiometric method of intragastric pH-metry was used to measures pH-dynamics. The atropine sulfate (0.006 mg/kg, intravenously) was used to stop the functional of n.vagus and cimetidine (0.16 mg/kg, intravenously) was used to block the humoral regulation. The results showed that atropine sulfate and cimetidine demonstrated some blocking effect on the HCL of abomasum in calves of different age.
