The analysis of contemporary markets with selected organic products in the Czech Republic and in selected foreign countries

This article focuses on the proportion of organic products such as cereals, potatoes, fruits, vegetables, milk, pork, poultry and eggs in the total food consumption in the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Netherlands, Spain and Sweden. According to the data published in 2002, this proportion was as follows: Sweden - 1.7%, the Netherlands - 0.9%, Great Britain - 0.9%, Spain - 0.1%, Czech Republic - 0.06%. In the Czech Republic, the demand for organic products rises but the supply is not sufficient. The demand for eggs, butter, milk and dairy products, pork and poultry meat, fruits and vegetables is not satisfied. Occasionally, there is an excess of supply for beef. The annual turnover of organic products market is about 200 million CZK. In 2003, the exports of organic products from the Czech Republic were 9,254 t.
