Restructure and conditions of beef cattle sector with domestic production of roughage

Declining of food self- sufficiency and environmental problem regarding to large scale livestock management independent of farm land occurred important problem. So, we analyze restructure and conditions of beef cattle sector with domestic production of roughage. Result of analyze could be summarized as follows. According to Linear Programming analysis, self sufficiency of roughage by individual management is not necessary advantage, because lack of farm land and high cost of machines for roughage. Realizing individual production of them, it is necessary to make functional lease market of farm land and land improvement. Also, Cooperative production of roughage is substitutional method. But, we have to pay attention to new trend of roughage production, the contract farming system. Today, we can find so many type of contractors and some problems to solve. But it is most important to establish coordinating system to adjust between contractor and farm. Contractor should be raised to support not only livestock sector but also regional agriculture.
