This study was carried out to investigate the antimicrobial susceptibility of Listeria monocytogenes during the period between July to September 2003 in Seoul and Gyeonggi province of Korea. Fifty five (42.0%) L. monocytogenes organisms were isolated from 131 poultry meat, 28(56.0%) from beef, and 28 (56.0%) from pork. Antibiotic susceptibility tests of all L. monocytogenes isolates were performed by the disk agar diffusion method according to the guidelines of the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards.
