Possibilities of early forecasting of the buffalo cows'longevity

Object of the study were 4485 buffalo cows from the Bulgarian Murrah breed with 4009 finished first lactations for the period 1976-2004. The results obtained show that decreasing in the age of first calving will not contribute buffalo cow's longevity traits. The purposeful selection for high milk yield at first lactation can be used for early forecasting of the buffalo cow's longevity.
