Sistema automatizado para el suministro de agua a las crías masivas de Lixophaga diatraeae (Diptera: Tachinidae).

El método tradicional para el suministro de agua a las crías masivas de Lixophaga diatraeae (Townsend) fue comparado con un nuevo método, en el cual un dispositivo realiza automáticamente esta labor. Los resultados indicaron que el sistema automatizado fue económicamente más eficiente que el método tradicional, al disminuir el costo de producción por unidad en 7,06 % que representa un efecto económico anual por Centro Reproductor de Entomófagos de $4 352,52 y para el país de $69 640,32. La calidad de la producción fue mejorada por el sistema automatizado, al disminuir significativamente el porcentaje de mortalidad de los adultos, debido, fundamentalmente, a la regularidad en el suministro de agua que garantiza una humedad más estable en las jaulas de cría.

Английский. The traditional method for supplying water to mass-reared Lixophaga diatraeae (Townsend) was compared with a new method by which this task is achieved by an automatic device. The results showed that the automatized system was economically more efficient than the traditional method since it reduced the cost of production per unit by 7,06 % which represents an annual economic effect of $4 352,52 per Entomophage Reproduction Center, ie $69 640,32 for the whole country. The quality of the production was improved by the automatized system as it reduced significantly the adults' rate of mortality, mainly because of the regularity of the water supply which assure a steadier humidity level in the rearing cages.
