Effect of nitrogen fertilization and retardants on yield and quality of winter wheat grain

The effect of increased nitrogen fertilization (0, 120 and 150 kg N/ha) and retardants (Bercema, Cerone, Bercema and Cerone) on yield, physical and chemical traits of grain was analysed. Yield, weight of 1000 grains, test weight, kernel size, glassiness, ash, protein, gluten content, gluten quality and falling number were significantly different depending on the year of harvest. Glassiness, total protein content and gluten content increased along with nitrogen fertilization rate. The used retardants had no effect on any tested trait
