In 1999 flannel flower's seedlings of a dwarf strain were imported from Gosford Horticultural Research and Advisory Station of New South Wales Agriculture (now; Gosford Horticultural Institute of NSW Department of Primary Industries) in Australia. Some seeds were obtained from a self-pollinated plant. And a superior strain as the pot plant was developed from propagated seedlings. The bred strain has some good features. They are as follows: 1. dwarf : Plant height is from 20 to 30 cm. 2. perpetual Figure and size of flowers are same as native plants which are used as cut flower. That strain was applied for the Plant Variety Protection in July 2005.
