Nitrogen levels (N1) significantly recorded the highest number of nodules. But the genotypes results were non significant. The data further, revealed that nitrogen level (N2) recorded significantly higher plant dry weight over its subsequent nitrogen levels. Significant differences were noticed in genotypes. 'High nodulating genotypes (ICC 4948 HN and ICC 5003 HN) recorded the highest plant dry weight When three years data were pooled it was observed that nitrogen levels- (N1) significantly produced the highest grain yield (1790 kg ha-1) over its Nj (1536 kg ha-1) level. The genotypic differences were also found to be significantly superior over non nodulating genotypes (1084 and 994 kg ha). 15 N analysis and nitrogen content in plants showed significant differences.
