Effectivity of two doses of Niclosamide and Foliar Nim at 0.5%against cestodes in naturally-infested laying hens | Efectividad de dos dosis de Niclosamida y Foliar Nim al 0.5 %contra cestodos en gallinas ponedoras naturalmente infestadas

Se eomprobo la efeetividad de los eestieidas Nielosamida a razon de 150 y 2oomg/kg. de peso vivo y Foliar Nim 010.5%incluidos en el pien so de gallinas ponedoras naturalmente infestadas con eestodos aviares. Se seleeeionaron sesenta gallinas ponedoras de la raza White Leghorn de 2-3 meses de puesta divididas en eineo grupos de doee gallinas, de los cuales se saerifieo uno para determinar prevlamente el grado de infestaeion. Los restantes grupos reeibieron los siguientes tratamientos: T1 y T2: Niclosamida mezelada con el pienso a razon de 150 y 200 mg/kg. de peso vivo respeetivamente; T3: Foliar Nim 010,5% mezelado con el pienso: y el T4: control. Alas 72 horas postratamiento se efeetuo la diseeeion y neeropsia helmitologiea de las aves. Se tomaron dos aves de eada grupo para realizar examenes anatomopatologieos, con el fin de verifiear si oeurrio intoxieaeion por las dosis empleadas. La efeetividad de Niclosamida a razon de 200 mg/kg. de peso vivo fue de 77% allgual que Foliar Nim 01 0.5%. En este experimento se demostro la baja efeetividad de la Niclosamida que solo afeeto la destrobila mientras que el eseolex del eestodo permaneeio en el intestino del ave.

ABSTRACT.Effectivity was found in the Niclosamide cesticides at the rate of 150 and 200 mg/kg of live weight and of Foliar Nim at 0.5% included in the feed given to naturally-onfested laying for 2-3 months, divided into five groups of twelve hens each werew chosen, one of which was slaughtered so as to previously determine their infestation degree. The remaining groups received the following treatments: Tl and T2: Niclosamide mixed the feed at the rate of 150 and 200 mg/kg of live welgth, respectively; T3: Follar Nim at 0.5% mixed with the feed; and T4: control. At 72 hours following treatment dissection and helminthological necropsy of the birds were carried out. Two birds of each group were taken in order to carry out anatomopathological examinations so as to verify If the doses used caused intoxication. The effectivity of Niclosamide at the rate of 200 mg/kg of live weight was of 77%,the same as Foliar Nim at 0.5%. This experiment showed the low effectivity of Niclosamide, which affected only destrobila, while the scolex of the cestode remained in the intestine of the bird.
