The effects of age of nuts and storage on the germination of nut of two cola varieties, Laboshie white and the Kumasi white, were studied. It was found that a high percentage of and rapid germination could be obtained by allowing nuts intended for use as planting material to be harvested when they were left 2 weeks longer on the tree than nuts sold for consumption. The varieties responded differently to storage. Original scientific paper.
