The significance of the NO system in the pathogenesis of gastric disorders caused by indomethacin

According to the results obtained it can be concluded that NO-system play important role in gastroprotection, because both endogenous (L-arginine) and exogenous NO-donor (GTN) show anti ulcer activity. Antiulcer effect of GTN is dose dependent and significant, no matter whether drug is applied preventive or therapeutic. Our results suggest the potential therapeutic use of NO-donors in protection against NSAID-induced ulcerogenesis.
