The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and sunflower oil addition to pig diet on carcass value traits and meat quality in both gilts and barrows. Three feed mixtures were used in the experiment - feed mixture with 2% of CLA, feed mixture with 2% of sunflower oil (S) and control (C) group. Carcass weight, lean meat percentage, pH1, pH24 and drip loss were monitored. Significant differences in carcass body weight were found between S and C groups. Lean meat percentage and pH1 did not differ significantly. Significantly lower values of pH24 were found out in S pigs than in CLA and C pigs. The effect of sex was significant only for lean meat percentage.
