Myodegeneration in rats fed Melia azedarach [mindi; white cedar; cape lilac; Chinaberry]. [Short contribution].
1992
Bahri S. | Sani Y. | Hooper P.T.
Weakness and anorexia developed in rats fed mindi, commencing on day 14 and progressing to paralysis of hind limbs, recumbency and death in 7 of 10 rats fed for 16-26 days. Skeletal myopathies were seen in all rats fed mindi for longer than 16 days. Further study of the toxicology of mindi for livestock is warranted.
