Coagulation and flocculation processes are efficient to remove the suspended solids, which are not removed by primary settling or secondary treatment. A standard potato effluent is prepared to simulate the waste materials from an industrial process. Having established the available chemicals for their efficiency in flocculating the potato effluents. A combination of an inorganic coagulant together with an organic polyelectrolyte are found to be the most efficient and effective in promoting flocculation and the rate of sedimentation.
