Evaluation of yield and yield components of some rye genotypes in Çanakkale conditions
2017
Kabak, D.
The aim of the research was to evaluate both 80 rye landraces population collected from Bingol province of Turkey and Aslım-95 cv. for grain yield and 10 quantitative (flag leaf width, flag leaf length, stem diameter, spike length, number of spikelet per spike, number of grain per spike, weight of grain per spike, plant height, thousand kernel weight and crude protein content) characters. The experiment was carried out 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 growing seasons at Çanakkale conditions according to balanced lattice design (9 x 9 =81) with two replicates. According to means of two growing seasons of rye populations, grain yield was ranged from 93.27 kg da-1 to 341.28 kg da-1; crude protein content was ranged from 9.52% to 13.25%; number of grain per spike was ranged from 26.64 to 66.14; weight of grain per spike, plant height was ranged from 0.60 g to 1.64 g and plant height was ranged from 120.91 cm to 146.47 cm. Genotypes 26, 24 and 22 had the highest grain yield, 341,28 kg da-1, 281,84 kg da-1 and 272,93 kg da-1 respectively. Among rye landraces some genotypes had higher both grain yield and some characters from Aslım-95 cv. These materials can be used as a genetic material, to breed new rye cultivars.
